Spider veins or telangiectasias are dilated veins smaller than 1 mm with or without featured shape. Typically they cover some skin surface like a spider web or tree. They can be red, purple, or blue in color and look very unattractive and annoying. The patient is often asymptomatic. Sometimes, you may feel itching, burning or a little sore in the area.
The causes of spider veins is yet unclear. However the following risk factors may contribute to them, such as the genetic, prolonged standing/sitting and pregnancy.
Of all the treatment methods for spider veins including laser treatment, sclerotherapy is still the best treatment.
